Built in 1875 this remarkable building formed part of an estate for farming, still today holding block names such as "The Dairy" and "Cow House".
In the early part of the 20th Century, the National Greyhound Racing Association purchased and converted this building into kennels, housing all the racing greyhounds from Harringay and White City Stadium, and so hence today why some racing greyhounds still carry the Longcross name.
In 1966 Longcross Kennels & Cattery was born.
The present owners, Brian and Audrey Hayward, took over the Kennels in 1978. Although now semi-retired, they still like to take an active interest, but the day to day running of the Kennels has been handed to Karen Walsh, who has been with them since 1986.
Brian and Audrey's knowledge of dogs spans over many
years. For the past 30 years they have been recognised as reputable breeders of the Labrador Retriever, and International Show Judges.
